When it comes to wide format printing, there are two kinds: roll printers and flatbed printers.
Roll Printers
Most commonly found in sign and graphic shops, roll printers print on digital media that comes on a roll, which is then trimmed or adhered to a rigid base material. Although they do not print on rigid base materials, roll printers can print on a wide variety of digital media.
Flatbed Printers
Also called Direct-to-Board printing, flatbed printing allows the user to feed base materials through the mouth of the printer and prints ink directly onto the loaded material.
